Not too long ago, Pacifica Christian High School did not exist; it’s hard to remember when this critical resource was not available to our community. In 2015, our founders, with faith and thoughtful strategy, brought into existence a school to teach this generation to think and live well — all to the glory of God.

In January, Pacifica will take its next bold step in our founding as we open the doors to our beautiful new Center for Learning. This new resource provides our students with dedicated facilities designed to enhance all aspects of our unique academic program. It also allows us to reach ideal enrollment, strengthening and enhancing our programs while impacting more deserving young lives. And as we look ahead to our tenth year of teaching and learning (Summer of 2025), our focus is to mature into one of the premier schools of our kind and size.

This growth is all very exciting. It is also a bit daunting. Expansion brings with it increased costs that won’t be fully covered until the school grows into its ideal enrollment. And yet we are greatly encouraged. These bold advancements allow each of us an opportunity to be a part of the joyful building of Pacifica and the intentional formation of young people.Between the remaining financial needs of this year’s Annual Fund ($1.76M) and our Building a Home Campaign ($1.98M), Pacifica is currently seeking a total of $3.74 million dollars in donations.

Announcing the Founders’ Challenge

To encourage and inspire the generosity of our community, Pacifica’s founders have committed a combined $350,000 matching gift! This is a genuine dollar-for-dollar match that we desire to meet by December 31, 2021. The Founders’ Challenge is a wonderful opportunity to double your giving towards this next bold step in strengthening Pacifica and our mission.

Your gift to the Founders’ Challenge will help fund:
– Student scholarships for deserving students;
– Faculty development and compensation;
– Arts materials, productions, and facility rentals,
– Triton Athletic uniforms, equipment, and competitions;
– Improvements made to student restrooms and the Triton Event Center;
– The opening of Pacifica’s new Center for Learning;
– And so much more…

AGI Deduction Limit

For taxpayers who itemize, the adjusted gross income (AGI) deduction limit for cash contributions to Pacifica remains 100% for individual donors. 2021 is a great year to give and receive the maximum deduction.

Above-the-Line Deduction

For those who don’t itemize deductions, the CAA extends the CARES Act’s allowance for up to $300 of an individual taxpayer’s cash charitable contributions to qualify as an above-the-line deduction. Married couples who file joint returns can claim up to $600 as a deduction.

Corporation Deduction Limit

Corporations can deduct charitable gifts up to 25% of the corporation’s taxable income, an increase from 10% prior to the CARES Act.

Donor Advised Funds (DAF)

A DAF enables donors to receive a tax deduction when money goes into the fund, then the donors decide when the assets leave the DAF and go to a charity. In the meantime, the assets inside a DAF grow tax-free.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

Individuals over 70½ years old may give up to $100,000 in IRA assets directly to Pacifica without taking the distribution into taxable income. A QCD can also count toward your required minimum distribution for the year.

Giving Appreciated Assets

Want to give more and avoid capital gains taxes? By donating your long-term appreciated assets, you may be able to reduce your future capital gains tax exposure if the stock continues to grow in value. Although it's not an incentive tied to the CARES Act, a large market growth year is an opportune time to gift appreciated assets.
