Chris Caron

Chris Caron has spent most of his life in the Costa Mesa area. His love for his local community led him to pursue an education he would use to reinvest back into that community. After much thought and prayer, Mr. Caron decided to pursue a degree in Pure Mathematics (‘pure’ means ‘theoretical’ in the math world) at California State University, Long Beach. He graduated with the highest honors from the undergraduate program and has returned to CSULB to complete both an M.S. in Pure Mathematics and a Teaching Credential.

Throughout his college career, Chris taught private guitar lessons, tutored all levels of math (elementary through college), and taught a discussion-based Calculus II course at CSULB. Having these teaching opportunities throughout his education helped him conclude that he loves to teach, and particularly loves teaching mathematics.

Mr. Caron views math as an endlessly creative and engaging subject that is often misunderstood. He firmly believes that all students can succeed in the mathematics classroom and enjoy the productive struggle of learning mathematics. Mr. Caron looks forward to helping Pacifica’s students learn to think and live well as they study mathematics together to the glory of God.

Apart from his work at Pacifica, Chris is also the music director at his local church, Roots Community Church. He spends most of his spare time outdoors with friends – surfing, hiking, camping, etc. – and always enjoys practicing the guitar or reading a good book.
