Cole Bishop

History & Theology

Cole Bishop has a passion for training young people to think well, love God, and flourish in the Christian life. Mr. Bishop first studied Jazz & Music Business at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before transferring to Liberty University in Virginia. At Liberty, he studied music, theology, and philosophy in the Rawlings School of Divinity. It was during his time at Liberty that he fell in love with medieval studies and philosophy, which has led him down a path of discovery that will influence the remainder of his academic life.

After college, Cole moved back to Huntington Beach to marry his best friend, Julia, and pursue an M.A. in Philosophy at the Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. There he has continued his studies in philosophy with special emphases in the thought of Thomas Aquinas, analytic theology, and medieval history––which he intends to pursue at the doctoral level. At Biola, Cole has also worked as a doctoral rhetoric and writing coach, a teacher’s assistant, and as vice president of the Talbot Philosophical Society.

The Bishops currently live in Huntington Beach, attend church at Redeemer OC, and have the pleasure of working together at Pacifica. Whenever Cole is not spending time with friends and family, he enjoys reading the classics, cooking, backpacking, and surfing.
