Joan Crawford
Instructional Coach, AP Coordinator

Joan Crawford

Prior to joining Pacifica OC, Joan was part of the Pacifica Santa Monica community as one of its founders. She taught mathematics and was the school Principal. Her desire to be a part of both of the Pacifica communities has everything to do with the mission of the school — teaching students to think and live well.

Joan did her undergraduate work in Mathematics at the University of California Los Angeles. She went on to get a Masters inEducationat CSULA.

Prior to her involvement in the Pacifica community, Mrs. Crawford worked as a math coach for a school in the Los Angeles Unified school district. Her training and experience in this role prepared her to support the teachers at Pacifica. She sees her role as Instructional Coach as an extension of teaching and an essential component of Pacifica’s professional development program.

Joan resides in Newport Beach with her husband. They have three adult daughters, all who are married, and six grandchildren. She loves playing the piano and the ukulele, knitting, baking bread, and reading.
