Kelsea Gonzalez was born and raised in Southern California (minus a 10 year stint in Colorado from ages 3-13), the youngest of four. Mom loves all things creative and organized. Dad was born and raised in Argentina and therefore loves all things soccer. Kelsea is a combination of the two, bringing about her skill-set of graphic design and love for soccer.
After graduating from Whittier Christian High School, Kelsea moved to Seattle where she attended Seattle Pacific University (SPU). It was there she obtained a B.A. in Visual Communications, and a minor in Art History. After graduating from SPU, Kelsea began her career in Graphic Design working for a Branded Merchandise Company in Seattle on their Sports Marketing team. There, she worked on national accounts such as MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, AT&T, Crown Imports (Corona, Modelo, Pacifico, etc.), Hershey’s, State Farm, and others creating pieces such as bobble heads, apparel, signage, and even an advertisement featured in Rolling Stone magazine. Eventually, Kelsea moved away from corporate clients and began doing freelance design work. There she flourished while getting to design and work closely with each of her clients. Her clientele ranged from companies such as Essentia Water, to local Seattle restaurants, businesses and individuals, to the wedding industry, where her works was featured in Seattle Met Bride & Groom.
In the midst of pursuing her Graphic Design career, Kelsea was also assistant coach for Girls Varsity Soccer at The Bear Creek School for four years. While there, her team appeared in three-straight State Finals from 2011-2013, winning back-to-back State Championships in 2011 & 2012. Kelsea believes that although the victories may be sweet, it is the journey that is even sweeter.
In June of 2015, after seven years in Seattle, Kelsea moved back to Southern California when her husband Brandon accepted the position as Athletic Director at Pacifica Christian High School—Orange County. In the fall of 2015, Kelsea left the world of freelance and joined staff with a non-profit soccer ministry called Seahorse Soccer where she felt God calling her to use her skill-set of graphic design and love for soccer to help further God’s kingdom. She is flabbergasted to see how God has merged all of her skills and passions into the work she’s doing at Seahorse Soccer, and the work she’s going to do at Pacifica. She is grateful and humbled at this opportunity.
Kelsea loves good coffee, good music, all things travel and adventure (especially if it leads to a gorgeous view), a good laugh, and nothing beats a good meal with good company. Kelsea and her husband have a boxer named Bojangles and she claims him as her first-born; Brandon does not.
