Sally Proctor

Sally remembers her interest in teaching began at an early age during visits to her father’s school. He was an elementary school principal who had a love for children and cared about their education. By the time Sally was attending Azusa Pacific College, she was sure teaching was her life’s calling.

As God would have it, Mrs. Proctor would be in the classroom even before her education was finished. Her first teaching job was in a church-sponsored school, teaching students with learning disabilities. That began an unconventional teaching career that included teaching Gymboree classes, providing in-home therapy for infants and toddlers with special needs, teaching Motor Development to K- 5th graders, teaching Life Skills at the Jr. High level, Student Council Advisor, teaching Child Development courses for pre-school teachers, leading parenting classes and being a Preschool Director.

During her career, Sally developed a deep concern for how children were educated. A quality education was the driving force behind all the positions she took. Every child is a precious gift from God. Every one of them deserve the best we, as educators, can give them, regardless of how they learn. Our job, with God’s help, is to discover what they need to become what God intended them to be.

In recent years, Mrs. Proctor has moved away from a teaching role and into a supporting role by providing administration the assistance needed to accomplish the goal of a quality education. She feels very blessed to be a part of the Pacifica Christian family and fully supports the mission of the school. Interesting side note: High School was the only age she has not been involved with and now her career is complete.

Sally is married to her ‘dream-come-true’ husband, Dennis. In her time away from work, Sally enjoys spending time with Dennis; her son, Eric; and Toast (an adorable mini Australian Shepherd). Sally unwinds by taking long walks with Dennis, spending time at the beach, hiking, biking, and reading. Her delight is diving into a deep study of the Bible.
