Stefan Menghin

Stefan Menghin was born and raised in Innsbruck, Austria. Growing up skiing, and hiking in the Alps, and experiencing the beautiful Nature that God created was what got him interested in the natural world around us. After competing as a professional water polo player all over Europe and serving in the Austrian Military, Stefan pursued a Magister program in Biology & Chemistry at the Leopold Franzens Universität in Innsbruck.

During this time he met his wife, Emilie, who is a southern California native. After living some years in Europe, they decided to move back to California.

For the last 7 years, Stefan worked at Loyola High School of Los Angeles where he taught Biology, Chemistry, and most recently, AP Biology and AP Environmental Science. In addition, he had the great pleasure to be part of Loyola’s water polo program as the varsity assistant coach for a team that ranked 3rd in the nation.

Stefan was able to spend some time with his students outside of the classroom as a moderator for student-led clubs like the German club, Ecology and Biology club, and the disc sports club.

In his free time, Stefan enjoys spending time with his family and doing all things outdoors like fishing, hiking, and camping. When he is not on an adventure with his family, you can find him woodworking, playing pickleball, or disc golf.
