Mathematics & Science
Tiffany McGee hails from Salem, Oregon, where she spent many of her days dreading the rain but reveling in the lush, green beauty it brought. Never ending sunshine was one of the many factors that brought her to Biola University, where she studied Chemistry and graduated Summa Cum Laude as one of the first students in 30 years to receive a degree in Chemistry from Biola. While at Biola, Tiffany participated in leadership for the American Chemical Society Club on campus, worked closely with one of the Chemistry professors on a cyclodextrin-dye complex research project, and tutored for the General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry courses. Organizing club events and tutoring for chemistry were a couple of ways that she was able to share her love of science–creating a fun, educational environment to excite her peers about the wonders of chemistry allowed her to demonstrate just how amazing the scientific world can be, and how amazing the God who created that world must be. In addition to her education in the sciences, Tiffany was also a member of the Torrey Honors Institute, where she cultivated her love of learning through Socratic discussion on the great books of the Western tradition.
Tiffany worked as an analytical chemist for a nutritional chemistry lab in Anaheim before being drawn back to education. She will be joining the Pacifica team in the fall of 2017 as a Math and Science Teacher. She hopes to encourage students in their endeavors as academic achievers and as humans who are learning what it means to live well and think well. Tiffany is excited to share in experiencing the beauty of God as she teaches about the workings of the universe He created.
Tiffany and her husband Evan are active members at their church in La Mirada, and enjoy going on hikes, swimming at Laguna Beach, reading The Chronicles of Narnia, and eating good food. They are very excited to join the Pacifica community and engage in this ensuing adventure.
