Pacifica Christian High School-Orange County announced today the hiring of
Brandon Gonzalez as Pacifica’s Athletic Director and Head Coach for Girls Soccer. Mr. Gonzalez currently serves as the Associate Athletic Director and Director of Girls Soccer at The Bear Creek School in Redmond WA, a National Blue Ribbon school and one of the top independent schools in the country. Brandon currently oversees 37 athletic teams, and his girls soccer program appeared in 3 straight State Finals from 2011-2013, winning back-to-back State Championships in 2011 & 2012.

Brandon Gonzalez’s Bio
Brandon Gonzalez was born and raised in Southern California. He attended
Biola University on a soccer scholarship where he received his
B.A. in
Sociology and a
Minor in
Biblical and Theological Studies. He then attended graduate school at
Concordia University where he received his
M.A. in
Coaching and Athletic Administration.
As a 4-year collegiate soccer player, Brandon earned the MVP award twice and was named 1st-team All-Conference in back-to-back seasons. In his professional career, Brandon played six seasons in the United Soccer League–five for the Southern California Seahorses and one for the North Sound Seawolves.
Brandon began his coaching career as the varsity head coach for boys’ soccer at Calvary Chapel High School in Murrieta, where he guided the team into back-to-back postseason appearances from 2005-2007, and won the Big Sky League title in 2007. Next, Brandon coached at Whittier Christian High School from 2007-2009 while taking on the role of Director of Athletics at the Salvation Army. In 2010, Brandon moved to the Pacific Northwest to work at The Bear Creek School as the Associate Athletic Director and Director of Girls Soccer. While at Bear Creek, he oversaw 23 high school sports teams and 14 middle school sports programs. He also oversaw the individual growth and development of the Girls Soccer Programs from elementary school to high school. While at Bear Creek, he helped the athletic department win 16 League Championships, 10 District Championships, 19 State Appearances, and 5 State Championships. Brandon also served as the head coach for Bear Creek’s Girls Varsity Soccer Program, which appeared in 3 straight State Finals from 2011-2013, winning back-to-back State Championships in 2011 & 2012.

In 2015, Brandon became the first Director of Athletics at Pacifica Christian High School-Orange County. Brandon’s vision for the Athletic Department is clear: To create and maintain a program that balances participation, competitive and non-competitive success, individual player development, and an overall positive experience. He wants to develop an athletic department that helps mold a well-rounded student-athlete, and more importantly, the individual that God intends.
Brandon and his wife, Kelsea Gonzalez have a dog (Boxer), named Bo. Brandon loves getting up bright and early every weekend morning to watch the English Premier League, in particular, supporting his favorite team, Newcastle United.
