Pacifica Volleyball Makes History in Tournament!

October 5th, 2015

Pacifica Volleyball Makes History in Tournament! The Pacifica Christian  JV Girls Volleyball Team made history this past weekend when they took 1st place in the Silver Division at the Murrieta Valley Night Hawk Classic. Their most impressive victories came against Great Oak High School (3,600 students) in the quarterfinals,  and Fallbrook High School in the tournament final. Maddie Alaluf lead the Lady Tritons with ten kills and Makena Houston tallied an impressive eight aces.  While the Tritons offense was consistent and dangerous over the course of the day, it was their defense that stood out. Libero Sydney Penticuff had a phenomenal day, recording 11+ digs along with excellent passing.  Olivia Garcia recorded six digs coming off the bench, and Kathryn Spoolstra and Isabel Hadley dominated the net, recording three blocks a piece.  "The Girls never stopped working hard," said Head Coach Megan Glennie. "Being a small school, we rely on everyone and today, every girl stepped up to the challenge. The girls played great." The Lady Tritons finished the weekend in style, defeating Fallbrook High School in 2 straight sets, 25-19 and 25-13, to take home Pacifica's first trophy in school history.  The Lady Tritons will be back in action this Tuesday, October 6th, when they host Sage Hill. The game starts at 3:45 pm. Pacifica Volleyball Makes History in Tournament!
