Tritons Finish Strong in Inaugural Fall Season!

November 15th, 2015

Pacifica XCGirls Volleyball and Boys & Girls Cross-Country concluded their inaugural season this past week. On Friday, October 30th, Cross Country traveled to the Apache Invitational in Arcadia. This was one of the biggest Invitationals our Cross Country team competed in all year, competing against schools such as Mater Dei, Costa Mesa High School, Cerritos High School, La Mirada High School, and many more. Pacifica runners competed well, with our top runner, Nicholas Kutcher, finishing 10th overall in the Freshmen division, and runners Justin Nishkian and Evan Nordstrom recording Personal Bests (PR’s). Cross Country had an incredible year, competing in 8 Invitationals, recording numerous top 25 and top 10 finishes, and establishing an incredible Triton tradition. Girls Volleyball In Girls Volleyball, both Frosh/Soph and JV concluded their inaugural seasons by defeating Samueli Academy of Santa Ana. Frosh/Soph won in 3 sets, dropping the first set 23-25, but roaring back to win two consecutive sets 25-15, 15-13 to win the match 2-1. Olivia Garcia led the charge for Frosh/Soph, recording 4 kills, 3 digs, and 1 ace. Sydney Palmer led the team on defense with 6 digs, while Freshman Maddie Gates was a marksman behind the line recording 5 aces. JV won in 2 straight sets, 25-6, 25-18, playing one of their best games of the season. Freshman Makena Houston recorded 3 kills, 9 digs, and 8 aces, while Kathryn Spoolstra recorded 3 kills, 6 digs, and 18 assists—the most assists by any Triton this season. JV finished the season 13-5, including a 1st place finish at the Murrieta Valley JV Volleyball Tournament on October 3rd. Congratulations to all our Fall Sports Athletes on incredible seasons and thank you for all your hard work in representing Pacifica Christian Athletics.
