Pacifica Welcomes New Faculty & Staff

May 19, 2025

Dear Tritons,

We are excited to welcome several outstanding new educators to our team next year! Each of them is committed to the Christian faith, an expert in their field, and deeply dedicated to the formation of high school students. Please join us in welcoming them to the Triton community!

Mr. Cole Bishop

Mr. Cole Bishop is a returning History & Theology faculty member! In 2023, Mr. Bishop was offered a place at the University of Cambridge to pursue a PhD in Theology at the Faculty of Divinity. At Cambridge, Mr. Bishop continued to pursue mastery of church history, theology, and literature while cultivating a love for creative writing and poetry. He and his wife, Julia, are thrilled that the Lord has led them back to the Pacifica community and look forward to the continued pursuit of thinking and living well.

Mr. Roberto O. Flores de Apodaca

Welcome Mr. Roberto O. Flores de Apodaca to our Mathematics faculty! He is a dedicated and experienced math teacher with a passion for his content and a love for teaching students. He grew up in Orange County and attended Concordia University where he became a Christian and met his wife Makayla. At Concordia, he studied History, Theology, and Political Science and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Roberto went on to earn his PhD in History at the University of South Carolina. After moving back to California with Makayla, Roberto transitioned to teaching high school mathematics.

Mr. David Fung

Meet Mr. David Fung, our new History and Theology faculty member! Mr. Fung grew up in Northern California and has spent most of his life in the Bay Area. He attended Biola University, where he earned his B.A. in Bible, Theology, and Ministry. He also graduated from the Torrey Honors College. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in New Testament, with a focus on the Gospels in their original language and historical context. When he’s not studying ancient Greek, he enjoys reading classical works by authors such as Plato, Dante, and Edmund Burke to help him think and live well.

Dr. Grace Park

Dr. Park, our new Choir Director, is dedicated to passing on the richness of church music—both traditional and contemporary—to the next generation of Christians in Southern California. She earned her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance with Golden Key Honors and pursued graduate studies in both Piano Performance and Baroque Music, with a concentration in Harpsichord. Following her Master's, she taught music at private and international schools in San Francisco, Chicago, and Seoul, while also serving local churches as a church musician. In 2017, she moved to Southern California to pursue her Doctorate in Church Music (D.C.M.), completing her dissertation on The Theology of Praise: Adopting Theological Training for 21st-Century Church Musicians.

Mrs. Analisa Valenzuela

We're excited to introduce Mrs. Analisa Valenzuela, our new Academic Counselor! In addition to growing up in a family of educators, Analisa discovered her passion for serving others while leading a high school Life Group at Mariners Church in Irvine. She finds great joy in encouraging student development and is dedicated to integrating faith-based values into her educational practice. Serving the Pacifica community as an Academic Counselor is a role she considers both an honor and a calling. As a member of the American School Counselor Association, Analisa actively pursues opportunities to expand her expertise in counseling practices and student support.
