Hello Pacifica Parents!  Happy New Year! My name is Jenny Penjoyan and I have the privilege of being the Parent Chair of the Pacifica Parent Partnership board this school year. If you are not familiar with P3, here is a quick summary.  The purpose of Pacifica Parent Partnership [P3] is to provide avenues for parents to fulfill Pacifica’s mission by cultivating community through the supporting our staff, students, and programs.  P3 is led by Kathy Mellert, the Director of Advancement, in partnership with myself, as P3 Chair.  P3 oversees 10 parent committees that are each led by a Parent Committee Chair and a Staff Chair and they partner in order to accomplish the purpose of those committees.  Staff chairs provide direction to each committee by sharing needs and offering specific opportunities for parents to serve. Each committee member is directly supporting the needs of activities and events assigned to their committee.  The committees are as follows: Admissions Ambassadors, The Arts, Community Events, Community Service, Faculty & Staff Appreciation/Office Help, Parent Social, Parents in Prayer, Senior Activities, Spring Benefit (Bloom), and Student Life.  For more information on what each committee does, please visit the Resources page on MyPacifica, under P3.

Now to the reason for my note - We want to thank each and every parent who has been a part of making Pacifica a success through your time given, your talents, and your treasure (through donations of food and supplies).  Most of our committees have been busy assisting in major school events such as Friendsgiving, Operation Christmas Child, and the awesome production of MacBeth. You are a great big army of parent volunteers and we want to thank YOU for being a part of making Pacifica an excellent school for our students!  

If you may have missed the interest form that was sent out in August, it is NEVER too late to jump in to give assistance.  Be on the lookout for a chance to fill out an interest form to complete for this semester. Looking ahead to the next few months, P3 is planning to come alongside Pacifica in many areas:  the final Open House of the admissions season is Jan. 19th, BLOOM fundraiser planning will begin with meetings every Friday, Wedge Week (a week full of school spirit) will be supported by Student Life committee, Community Events is helping with Grandparents Day on Feb. 1, Parents In Prayer meets once a month on Tuesday mornings and there will be an Arts Week celebrating all the students do in the Arts in February as well as the musical in April.

We look forward to continuing to work together to partner with parents in support of Pacifica!
