What do you do after working in manufacturing for 45 years? When faced with that decision, Dennis decided he wasn’t ready to fully retire. No longer interested in supervising a production team, he searched for something new and different. Dennis saw God’s hand lead him to Pacifica Christian High School. He is truly humbled to serve with an amazing faculty and staff who bring the hope of God’s Word to the students. Prior to his career in manufacturing, Dennis served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty, he served as a correctional officer at a California Men’s Prison. The offer of a new job led him into the field of manufacturing. His first role was a Production Coordinator in the manufacturing of two-way ham radios. While working for TDK Corp, Mr. Proctor supervised the first production team that manufactured the 3.5-inch floppy disc. His last role as a production supervisor was for a food company that made salad dressing and other liquid products. This job was a hit with his friends because Dennis would often bring them their favorite salad dressing or BBQ sauce. Dennis frequently finds himself in jail, not because he has broken the law, but because of his passion for sharing the gospel of Christ with the inmates. During his visits he also provides support for the sheriff deputies and staff. It is just amazing to watch God’s Spirit move through the jail as inmates with no hope left surrender their lives to Christ. Part of Dennis’ ministry in the jail is discipling the inmates who have decided to follow Christ. It is humbling to see how God can restore a broken life. Dennis and his wife, Sally, live in Huntington Beach. At church, Dennis serves as the parking lot security and is involved in many men’s events. Dennis enjoys spending time with family, camping, surf fishing, hanging out at the beach, and taking his grand-dog, Toast, to the park or dog beach. Dennis and Sally always enjoy long walks on the beach, hand-in-hand (aka the Beach Bum and his bride). Dennis is blessed to serve the Lord as a Campus Supervisor. He is now able to use his supervisory skills to make sure that all students and staff are safe, healthy, and treated with respect and the love of God at all times. Ministering in jail Dennis sees the darkness, but at Pacifica, God’s light shines bright. |
